10 Tips to Save Energy at Home

1. At home, raise the temperature SLOWLY on the heat pump. Quickly raising the temperature will activate the heat strip, which wastes a lot of energy.

2. Heat your house with the sun's help. Leave your window shades or blinds open during the daytime.

3. Stick a rug to your floors to help insulate the floor.

4. Turn off the hot water each time you rinse dishes. Letting the tap run wastes up to 30 gallons a meal!

5. Unplug your electronics when you aren't using them.

6. Don't use your fireplace when it's below -7 degrees celsius.

7. Insulate. Just keep insulating everything during winter.

8. Remove plastic sheetings from your window.

9. Turn off your lights when you leave a room.

10. Use the large appliances (dishwasher, dryer, washer etc.) in the evening and you'll reduce stress on the grid.
